A Green Affair

You know how they say you should find a job that you would work even if they didn't pay you? Because you're so passionate about it? Well, I may just be working a student job on campus and getting paid diddley-squat, but that is totally how I feel about my new job at the greenhouse. Thursdays are my favorite day of the week because I don't have any classes and get to spend all day with my plants.

We've been seeding for the past few weeks and I started out my morning today watering all the little baby plants. It's so rewarding when you've been nurturing a seed to see it sprout and begin to grow.

I love looking across our benches and seeing all the different leaves and varieties. I seriously CAN'T WAIT to see these little guys planted all around campus!!

Another favorite about today was our visit to Red Mountain, a wholesale floral company. As you can probably guess, they have flowers of all kinds and I LOVE IT! If I were a billionaire, I would buy them all and spend weeks designing arrangements until my fingers fell off. One of the faculty members  on campus is throwing some sort of classy party so we bought and wrapped 150 stems of roses for them. It was so fun, I love flowers.

Another part of my job is taking care of the plants in the buildings across campus. The stars were seriously aligned for me today because one of our tasks ended up being in the Tanner building at the same time that Kyle had a break between classes. There's nothing like a surprise hubby sighting to make a good day even better.

To wrap it up, Sophie was so sweet when I got home from work. We cuddled and watched Harry Potter while we waited for Kyle to get home. Today was such a lovely day; I am so blessed.

Also, it's apparent that I'm becoming a plant nerd. Don't judge me ;)
